Midshipmen Welfare Fund
The United States Naval Academy provides a unique framework and environment where leadership opportunities abound through participation in military training, varsity athletics, Extracurricular Activities (ECAs), club sports, professional organizations and academic groups. The Academy’s ability to provide a suitable infrastructure through which midshipmen can engage in club meetings, group study and other forms of collaboration, including on-Yard social interaction, adds to four year developmental experience.
The Midshipmen Welfare Fund (MWF) provides non-appropriated, quality-of-life support for the Brigade of Midshipmen by providing opportunities for structured extracurricular involvement in recreation or other constructive activities at the individual, company, or Brigade level. The MWF functions in a similar manner to campus support organizations, including student unions and recreational organizations, at civilian institutions of higher education.
The Fund supports various extracurricular programming for midshipmen, to include such programs and activities as:
- Club Sports
- Extracurricular Activities
- Brigade support for NAAA events (D&B/Cheering/Brigade travel support)
- Musical activities
- Commissioning Week events
- Other Brigade Activities
